Turkey are under the spotlight as they host the 2012 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship and hopes are high that it will have a lasting legacy for girls across the country.
The finals in Antalya, which began on Monday, are giving Turkey a chance to highlight the growth of the women's game and further showcase its ability to stage competitions. "Some of our most respected people have been working on the development of women's football and related projects, and this tournament will be what you could call the finishing touch," former Turkish international Tolunay Kafkas told UEFA.com.
