England and Sweden will meet on the opening day of the 2014 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship following today's final tournament draw in Oslo.
The sides, who met in the 2009 final, with England winning, were paired in Group B. Sweden captured the title two summers ago and along with Spain, champions in 2004, will provide a formidible test for debutants the Republic of Ireland. Hosts Norway, in coach Jarl Torske's tenth and last final tournament at this level (Under-18s included), will take on the Netherlands, Belgium and Scotland in an even-looking Group A.
Group matches will be played on 15, 18 and 21 July at venues in Mjondalen, Strommen, Tonsberg, Sarpsborg and Jessheim. The top two go into the semi-finals on 24 July, with the final three days later at the national arena, Oslo's Ullevaal Stadium. The showpiece and the semi-final in Jessheim will be broadcast by Eurosport.
The draw, conducted by UEFA head of women's and futsal competitions Mikael Salzer, was made by tournament ambassadors Stig Inge Bjørnebye and Ingrid Stensland with Karen Espelund, chair of the UEFA Women's Football Committee.
