Despite finishing on the losing side in Borisov as England prevailed in the final, Sweden striker Sofia Jakobsson ends the 2009 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship as the five-goal leading scorer.

Semi-final hat-trick
Scorer of the qualifying goal that earned Calle Barrling's team their finals place as best runners-up, Umeå IK forward Jakobsson continued that fine form in Belarus. She registered in the comeback victories against Iceland and Norway before raising her stock further with a late equaliser to force extra time in the semi-final against France. Two more goals in the additional 30 minutes led Sweden through to the final and though she could not add to that tally in the showpiece, she did hold off England forward Toni Duggan. Everton LFC's Duggan, who registered three times prior to her side's elimination 12 months ago, struck four goals here to finish joint second with France's Solène Barbance.
