• Opened in 2012, the venue is home to five-time Israeli champions Maccabi Netanya FC and was inaugurated with a 2-1 victory against Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC.

• The stadium staged four games at the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship: Israel 2-2 Norway, Germany 0-1 Spain, Russia 1-2 Germany (all group stage) and Spain 3-0 Norway (semi-final).

• Netanya boasts a population of 184,000 and is a popular coastal destination. It has also established a reputation as Israel's 'city of sport' with a basketball team, baseball club, beach soccer events as well as a centre for judo, gymnastics and fencing.
