Norway need just a point against the bottom club Ghana on Wednesday to reach the FIFA Women's World Cup quarter-finals despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Australia on Saturday in Group C.
Gulbrandsen opener
Norway opened the scoring in the fifth minute through Ragnhild Gulbrandsen's second goal of the finals, but were denied an early passage to the knockout rounds when Lisa De Vanna scored with a sensational left-foot drive in the 83rd minute. Both teams have four points, one more than a Canada side who defeated Ghana 4-0 today. On Wednesday Norway will still neet a point against Ghana, while Australia face Canada.
