Burger double sees off Hungary

Hungary 0-3 Austria Two goals from Nina Burger helped Austria to their first win in FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying Group 5.

Two goals from Nina Burger helped Austria to their first win in FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying Group 5, 3-0 away to Hungary. The win puts them level on points with group leaders England and the Netherlands, although they have played a game more.

Szvorda gift
Austria were gifted a perfect start when Hungary goalkeeper Melinda Szvorda spilt the ball and presented Burger with an easy finish from two metres. If the first goal was simple, the second was spectacular, as Nina Aigner blasted a low shot into the left corner from 27 metres.

Burger double
Despite significant improvement after the break, Hungary were unable to pull one back, and the game was killed off ten minutes from time when Maklies Hanschitz sent Burger clean through and she made it three.

'This will mean a lot'
"We deserved this victory and I'm sure that this will mean a lot for us in this group," said Austria coach Ernst Webber, whose team face the Netherlands and France at home in their next two matches. Hungary play their second fixture at home to England on 27 October.
