Germany reveal World Cup goal

The German Football Association has declared its interest in staging the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, with the hosts set to be chosen at September's finals in China.

The German Football Association (DFB) has declared its interest in staging the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup as the country continues to benefit from the knock-on effects of hosting the men’s edition last summer.

'Fantastic'
DFB president Theo Zwanziger said today: "Following the fantastic World Cup last year we want to host a women's competition that is just as successful." The 61-year-old believes they would stand an excellent chance of achieving its goal, and will be presenting his country's case at September's Women's World Cup in China, when the next hosts will be chosen and Germany will be defending their title.
