Westwood handed England chance

England have recalled Everton LFC midfielder Emily Westwood for their trip to FIFA Women's World Cup venue China for the Four Nations Tournament.

England have recalled Everton LFC midfielder Emily Westwood into their 20-strong squad for their Four Nations Tournament in China this month that continues their FIFA Women's World Cup preparations.

Long absence
In China, the venue for the global finals in September, England meet three fellow World Cup contenders, the hosts, the United States and holders Germany, from 26-30 January. Westwood, then with Wolverhampton Wanderers LFC, was part of the UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2005™ squad for the hosts, the only player from outside the top division. Since joining Everton that summer she has suffered a series of injuries but has been playing regularly this season and is set for her first England appearance since September of last year.

Duo return
Also returning to the squad are Everton defender Rachael Unitt and Arsenal LFC midfielder Katie Chapman, who missed the 5-1 defeat in Germany in October through injury. England will compete in the World Cup finals for the first time since 1995 having secured qualification above France last autumn.
