England 6-0 Russia
England continued their preparations for the FIFA Women's World Cup with a convincing victory against Russia in Milton Keynes, the first of three friendlies Hope Powell's side will play in the space of six days.

Fine start
The home side enjoyed the perfect start when Arsenal LFC right-back Alex Scott scored her third goal in her last five internationals on 15 minutes before the pacey Eniola Aluko rounded Russia goalkeeper Maria Pigaleva five minutes later to double the lead. England would add two more goals before the break too, after Carney (25) and captain Kelly Smith (41) both found the net following fine build-up play.

Yankey on mark
The experienced Rachel Yankey, another member of the Arsenal team that will contest the UEFA Women's Cup final against Umeå IK next month, made it 4-0 on 64 minutes with her tenth England goal and Russia's misery was completed ten minutes from time as Casey Stoney scored with a looping effort from long range. Powell's side will hope to carry their good form into the meeting with Scotland in Wycombe on Saturday before they face the Netherlands in Swindon next Wednesday.
