England 1-0 Scotland
England continued their good form in the lead-up to September's FIFA Women's World Cup as a long-range strike by Fara Williams ensured a victory against Scotland in Wycombe.

Williams wondergoal
Hope Powell made eight changes from the team which beat Russia 6-0 on Thursday, giving a number of young players a chance to show what they can do ahead of the trip to China. And despite dominating the early stages England had to wait half an hour for the breakthrough as Everton LFC midfielder Williams scored after spotting goalkeeper Gemma Fay off her line.

Telford save
England continued to have the better of the contest in the second half but debutant Carly Telford still had to save smartly when Arsenal LFC forward Julie Fleeting tested her from a free-kick, and the hosts held on to register their 19th victory in 20 games against their rivals. Powell's side are in action again on Wednesday when they host the Netherlands in Swindon.
