Alexandra Popp

National team: Germany

Which player most inspired you and why? Inka Grings, because she is a charismatic player on and off the pitch as well as being a clinical finisher.

Which coach most inspired you? Horst Westermann. He was my first coach and set me up for my career.

Best player you've played with? Inka Grings.

Toughest opponent? Elodie Thomas of Olympique Lyonnais.

What are your memories of your first club as a child? My first goal was an own goal and it didn't even bother me. I was just happy to score!

What tip would you give a young player hoping to succeed? To play in boys' teams for as long as possible. Always believe in yourself and work hard to improve your game. Also, stay grounded.

What was the experience of playing in a youth final tournament? You gain a lot of experience and develop your game. It is the best time for development, technically and tactically.
