Previous clubs: Vellinge IF
Domestic honours: Norwegian Player of the Year (1), Swedish Women's National League (2)
Which player most inspired you and why? I started playing because of my sister, Asthildur Helgadóttir. She has inspired me and been my role model throughout my career.
Which coach most inspired you? I have been very lucky with coaches so the list is long but I'd say the first coach that selected me for the national team, Vanda Sigurgeirsdóttir.
What was the best advice they gave you? The most important thing was perhaps not advice, but that she took a big chance with me when I was very young because she believed in me. For that I am very grateful.
Toughest opponent? The German national team or, for individuals, Abby Wambach.
What are your memories of your first club as a child? Women's football was pretty young still in Iceland when I started playing but I still remember the club being run very in a very professional manner. My first coach was a player on the A-team and she was role model for all of us.
What tip would you give a young player hoping to succeed? I think my most valuable lesson came when I was young and realised that the coach's critique was not personal but aimed at helping me get better. So my advice would be take criticism as an opportunity to improve.
