Ukraine goalkeeper Olexandr Shovkovskiy has called time on his 18-year international career.
The 37-year-old missed the second half of last season followed by UEFA EURO 2012 with a shoulder injury and national team coach Oleh Blokhin revealed that the FC Dynamo Kyiv player will hang up his gloves prior to the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. Shovkovskiy made his debut in November 1994 in a EURO '96 qualifying victory against Estonia and went on to represent his country on 92 occasions.
The eight-times Ukrainian goalkeeper of the year has made 347 top-flight appearances for Dynamo and lifted 12 Ukrainian Premier League titles as well as the Ukrainian Cup on eight occasions. The one-club man will continue to play for Dynamo on his return from injury.
Ukraine have been drawn in World Cup qualifying Group H alongside England, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland and San Marino and will kick off their campaign away to Roy Hodgson's men on 11 September.
