France coach Raymond Domenech has rubber-stamped the international comebacks of Zinedine Zidane, Lilian Thuram and Claude Makelele by including the trio in his 21-man squad to face Ivory Coast in Montpellier on 17 August.
The three players, who all retired from national-team football after UEFA EURO 2004™, had announced their wish to return to the France team earlier this month. They are selected at the expense of Benoît Pedretti, Rio Antonio Mavuba and Camel Meriem, from Olympique Lyonnais, FC Girondins de Bordeaux and AS Monaco FC respectively.
France will use the match to prepare for next month's FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Group 4 rivals, the Faroe Islands and the Republic of Ireland
