Umut Bulut scored a hat-trick as Turkey beat Andorra to keep their hopes alive in Fatih Terim's first game back in charge.
Terim took the helm for the third time last month after Abdullah Avcı's departure and two of his club charges at Galatasaray AŞ, Umut and Burak Yılmaz, were on target. Turkey are still fourth in Group D but are still within three points of second-placed Romania, who they visit on Tuesday.
It was a one-sided game in the first half, Umut opening the scoring after getting his head to Gökhan Töre's right-wing cross on 35 minutes. Four minutes later he doubled the lead with a beautifully-taken 30-metre long shot, and before the break Mehmet Topal's effort from range was denied by the crossbar.
The second half was no different with Andorra, still without a point or a goal in the group, defending deep. Burak made the score 3-0 by touching in Gökhan Gönül's cross and Umut completed his hat-trick with another strike in the 68th minute. Arda Turan closed the scoring with his added-time goal.
