Luxembourg and Azerbaijan are still seeking a first win in 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying after sharing the Group F spoils at the Josy Barthel Stadium.
Pardis Fardjad-Azad came closest to breaking the deadlock, hitting the post for just before the break. Indeed, the visitors had the edge throughout but were never able to find a way through and remain second from bottom in the section, a point ahead of their opponents.
Berti Vogts's side went into the game with hopes high after impressive showings away to Russia and Northern Ireland in their previous two competitive games. Ruslan Abışov almost broke the deadlock midway through the first period, but was denied by Jonathan Joubert's great save.
Yet within two minutes came notice that they were not going to have it all their own way as Mario Mutsch and Daniel Da Mota combined to find Aurélien Joachim; the striker could not find a way past Kamram Agayev.
Fardjad-Azad hit the post and Afran Ismayilov did well from an acute angle on the hour, but Luxembourg kept Azerbaijan at bay.
