Clubs: Olympique Lyonnais
• Born in the Lyon suburb of Vénissieux, Gonalons progressed through Lyon's youth academy and spent two seasons with the club's amateur team in the CFA division, winning the title in 2008/09.
• Joined the first team under Claude Puel in 2009/10 and made his debut in a UEFA Champions League qualifier against RSC Anderlecht in August 2009; made his first Ligue 1 sortie on 12 September in a 1-0 home victory against FC Lorient.
• The defensive midfielder scored on his second European outing, coming off the bench to equalise against Liverpool FC at Anfield in a 2-1 victory; registered his first Ligue 1 goal on 16 January 2010 in a 2-0 win at AS Nancy-Lorraine and nine days later signed a new contract with the club through to 2014.
• Made his debut for France Under-21s in a November 2009 friendly against Tunisia (1-1) and featured in two matches towards the end of the qualifying campaign for the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
