Wales have agreed to play the United States in a friendly international in California on 26 May.

San Jose clash
The game, scheduled for 7pm local time at the Spartan stadium in San Jose, will give Wales manager Mark Hughes a chance to review his options in between the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier against Serbia-Montenegro in April and subsequent matches against Italy and Finland in September.

First encounter
It will be Wales's first meeting with the United States, quarter-finalists at last summer's FIFA World Cup. The Football Association of Wales is also hoping to arrange a friendly against European opponents on 20 August.

Group leaders
Wales lead Group 9 with maximum points from their opening three games. They face Azerbajjan on 29 March in their next qualifying match before visiting Serbia-Montenegro on 2 April.
