• A senior manager at a bank in his native Israel, Avraham Luzon became chairman of his hometown club Maccabi Petach-Tikva FC in 1991.

• He went on to take up several positions with the Israel Football Association (IFA), including vice-president and treasurer, before becoming president in 2007 - a position he held until stepping down in July 2014.

• A married father of three, Luzon modernised the administration at the IFA during his successful presidency.
