A year is a long time in football ... and as UEFA strives to nurture the game throughout Europe, this tireless and enduring work is reflected in the body's annual report for 2017/18.

Covering the 12 months from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018, the report – approved by the UEFA member associations at February's Ordinary UEFA Congress in Rome – gives a comprehensive insight into UEFA's activities, decisions and policies in what was another hectic and fulfilling year.

There is an air of innovation about the latest UEFA annual report as well. The publication has been revamped and streamlined to give it a brand-new look that lends the report a modern, refreshing and up-to-date feel.

This new era is confirmed by an exciting technological development – readers can also access a digital version of the report, which is available in UEFA's three official languages of English, French and German.

Making copious use of graphics and statistics, as well as striking photography, the report runs the rule over every facet of UEFA's work – competitions, football development, how the game operates, governance and stakeholder relations, and much more besides.

In his foreword, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin hails a rewarding year for the body.

"We have shown courage, transparency and leadership in fulfilling our mission to protect, promote and develop the game," he says.

"We particularly hope that this review of UEFA's year will be an invaluable source of information for those interested in discovering who we are, and what we do.

"Of course, we are not always perfect," Mr Čeferin concludes. "But everything that we do has the love of football at its very core."
