UEFA.com is saddened to report that our Paris-based reporter David Crossan has passed away at the age of 43.

David was a regular at UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League fixtures across France, and was UEFA.com's long-standing correspondent for French national-team games. He covered three UEFA European Championships for UEFA.com, including 2016 in his adopted homeland.

Raised in Saffron Walden, Essex, he moved to France in 2000, at the age of 22, and went on to forge an excellent career in print, online and broadcast journalism. He was an accomplished interviewer, writer, commentator and linguist.

David will be remembered by colleagues not only for his enviable output and admirable work ethic, but also for his fierce intellect, wit and sense of fun.
