Bosnia and Herzegovina's time to shine

Staging a women's international development tournament in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2014 allowed players to learn on and off the field.

Bosnia and Herzegovina reflecting on development

Bosnia and Herzegovina are one of the women's Under-16 teams currently playing in a UEFA international development tournament; events from which they have already seen the benefits.

"Straight away we can see that the emerging young players have a certain quality," coach Ilija Lučić told UEFA.org at their third such tournament in 2014. "They built confidence, learned tactics and developed physically. They know how important these are – there's a huge difference between national team tournaments and what we have here."

A total of 49 national teams are participating in the Under-16 tournaments this year, which aim to give the tools to players and teams to evolve in football, the inspiration to continue in the sport and the platform to shine.
