UEFA Executive Committee confirms several final tournament locations

004 – UEFA Executive Committee confirms several final tournament locations

The UEFA Executive Committee, chaired by UEFA President Michel Platini, today held its first meeting of the year at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, and appointed the hosts for a variety of competitions as follows:

• 2014/15 UEFA Futsal Cup finals (Sporting Clube de Portugal),

• UEFA Futsal EURO 2018 (Slovenia),

• 2015–17 UEFA European Under-21 Championship final tournament (Poland),

• 2016/17 UEFA European Under-19 Championship final tournament (Georgia),

• 2017/18 UEFA European Under-19 Championship final tournament (Finland),

• 2016/17 UEFA European Under-17 Championship final tournament (Croatia),

• 2017/18 UEFA European Under-17 Championship final tournament (England),

• 2016/17 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship final tournament (Northern Ireland),

• 2017/18 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship final tournament (Switzerland),

• 2016/17 UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship final tournament (Czech Republic); and

• 2017/18 UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship final tournament (Lithuania).

The UEFA Executive Committee received a positive update on the preparations for UEFA EURO 2016, ahead of tomorrow's 500-days-to-go date until the start of the tournament to be played in ten venues across France between 10 June and 10 July 2016.

Gibraltar was admitted to the UEFA Referee Convention, which now comprises all 54 UEFA member associations.

The Executive Committee also received a report on the recently held Breaking the Glass Ceiling seminar, which was staged in Amsterdam on 12 December, in partnership with the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) and Football Against Racism (FARE) network. The presentation included the resolution which was adopted at the seminar.

The next meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee is scheduled to take place in Vienna, Austria, on 22/23 March, prior to the XXXIX Ordinary UEFA Congress in Vienna on 24 March.
