PFC CSKA Sofia moved into second place in the A PFG today after sweeping aside the challenge of PFC Neftochimik 3-0.
The home side took control of the game in the fifth minute when Galin Ivanov drove home a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area. After that setback, Neftochimik responded well and were unlucky not to level when Malin Orachev hit the crossbar.
CSKA doubled their lead ten minutes after the break when Vladimir Manchev slid the ball into the net, and then with eleven minutes remaining Petar Zlatinov completed the scoring with a simple tap in. CSKA are back level on points with PFC Litex Lovech but are ten points adrift of the leaders, PFC Levski Sofia.
PFC Spartak Varna and PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv played out a 1-1 draw in their rescheduled match from Saturday. Varna dominated most of the opening exchanges and eventually took the lead after 57 minutes when Radomir Todorov broke the deadlock. However, Plovdiv came back strongly, and, after creating a number of chances, finally struck a deserved equaliser four minutes from time - Velko Hristev redeeming himself after some poor finishing earlier in the game.
