Bonev bids to rescue Loko Plovdiv

Bulgarian legend Hristo Bonev has returned to coaching in a bid to save his hometown side PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv 1936 from relegation, with the 63-year-old replacing Naji Shensoi, who resigned on Sunday. Bonev scored 47 goals in 98 internationals, coached Panathinaikos FC to the 1989/90 Greek title and was the last coach to lead Bulgaria to the FIFA World Cup finals in 1998. Loko are three points above the relegation zone with two tough games remaining, away to PFC Slavia Sofia and at home against PFC Lokomotiv Sofia.
