Georgi Vasiliev has resigned as coach of Cypriot strugglers Nea Salamis FC after just two months in charge.
The Bulgarian coach's decision comes in the wake of the 5-0 defeat by Olympiakos Nicosia FC in the Cyprus Cup, the club’s fifth consecutive defeat. Salamis lie in 12th position in the 14-team Cypriot First Division and are in danger of relegation from the top flight.
The club's last league victory came in October when they defeated bottom side Aris Limassol FC 4-1. After a strong start to the season, Salamis have struggled since the departure of former Birmingham city player Paul Tait, whose influence on the pitch has been sorely missed.
