Ivic recovering after health scare

Olympique de Marseille coach Tomislav Ivic is expected to return to his coaching duties on Wednesday after a short stay in hospital.

Health scare
Ivic became the third high-profile coach to suffer a health scare in recent weeks when he went into hospital on Saturday after complaining of fatigue. The 68-year-old Croatian missed his club's 4-2 victory over Montpellier Hérault SC in the French League Cup on Sunday.

Under observation
Ivic is expected to leave hospital on Tuesday, and be back at the club the next day. His assistant Zoran Vujovic said he had suffered breathing problems and added: "Ivic needs a rest and doctors want to keep him under observation until tomorrow [Tuesday] as a precautionary measure but I'm sure he will make his return to the training ground on Wednesday."

Heart problems
Ivic, who has been in charge of teams such as AFC Ajax and the Iranian national side, has a history of heart trouble and a year ago quit Belgian side R. Standard de Liège after suffering further problems. Sources in Marseille said that Ivic was "exhausted" after the trip to Paris on 29 November, where his team drew 0-0 with Paris Saint-Germain FC.

Houllier and Roux
Liverpool FC's French coach Gérard Houllier is currently recovering at home after heart surgery in October while AJ Auxerre coach Guy Roux had bypass surgery last week.
