Player sale
Dunaferr, Hungarian champions in 2000, have been forced to sell star players like Hungarian internationals Attilla Tököli and Thomas Sowunmi, as well as János Zováth, György Kiss and Marek Penksa to league leaders Ferencvárosi TC.

Crisis point
Meanwhile, coach Barnabás Tornyi left the club on Saturday due to the financial crisis affecting the Dunaujvaros-based team and its owners, steel company Dunaferr.

Jung at heart
József Jung, the club's former assistant coach, will take charge of the first team for the spring season while his squad will comprise mostly youth-team players.

For charity
György Gálhidi, a former trainer of Dunaferr, Tiszakécskei FC and Kispest Honvéd FC, will assist as technical director, working for free. "There is a special place for Dunaferr in my heart - I have always followed the club," Gálhidi said.

Lowly status
Dunaferr went into the winter break in tenth place in the 12-team NB. I with 14 points from 17 games. The Hungarian season resumes in March.
