Predrag Ranelović and Blažo Igumanović were on target as FK Rudar Pljevlja added the Montenegrin Cup to the maiden league title they claimed last weekend, but they were pushed all the way by ten-man FK Budućnost Podgorica.

The celebrations looked set to begin early for Rudar when Budućnost captain Goran Perišić was shown a straight red card on three minutes after bringing down Ranelović in the penalty area. Ranelović converted from the spot, and the newly-crowned champions went 2-0 up when Igumanović struck from distance nine minutes before half-time. Ranelović had also hit the crossbar but in the second period Rudar eased off – they nearly paid dearly.

Increasingly busy as the game wore on, goalkeeper Miloš Radanović was finally beaten with six minutes remaining, substitute Ilija Stolica scoring to set up a grandstand finale. Rudar held out, and coach Nebojša Vignjević led the jubilation at full time. "I said we would celebrate when we won the cup and I am glad I can keep my promise," he said. "This is a brilliant end to the season and the beginning of new adventure – next up it is the UEFA Champions League qualifications."
