Striker Danko Lazović described PSV Eindhoven as "the only club I wanted to join" after signing for the Dutch champions from BV Vitesse Arnhem on Thursday.
The Serbian forward, who has agreed to a five-year deal, had also attracted interest from AZ Alkmaar after scoring 19 Eredivisie goals last season, but Lazović insisted that PSV, who will compete in the UEFA Champions League next season, were the only club he was interested in joining. "I am very happy," he said. "PSV were interested in me seven years ago when I was a youth player but I went to FK Partizan. This time, it was very clear to me that there was only one club I wanted to join, and that was PSV."
The 24-year-old, who has been capped 13 times by Serbia, first came to prominence at Partizan in 2000/01 before moving to Feyenoord three years later. After spending loan spells at Bayer 04 Leverkusen and back at Partizan the striker was sold to Vitesse last summer. Lazović is PSV's second signing in as many days after the arrival of midfielder Tommie van der Leegte on Tuesday.
