Four point lead
Victory against Floriana FC coupled with a 2-2 draw between Sliema Wanderers FC and Birkirkara FC saw Hibernians open up a four point lead at the top of the Maltese Premier League.

Mifsud strikes again
Prolific scorer Adrian Mifsud struck twice in the first half to set Hibernians on the path to victory. After just eight minutes, Nigerian Chuckunyere Ndubisi provided the perfect cross from the right for Mifsud whose flicked header flew past Floriana goalkeeper Matthew Camilleri. 

Consolation goal
The uncontrollable Mifsud scored his second after 27 minutes with a fierce shot from just inside the area, and he turned provider to set up youngster Antoine Zahra for his side’s third just before half-time. Etienne Barbara scored a consolation goal for Floriana from the penalty spot.

Birkirkara take the lead
In the second of the afternoon fixtures at the National Stadium, Ta’ qali, Birkirkara went ahead with a Michael Galea goal after 32 minutes of play. Galea was on hand to flick home after Sliema keeper Murphy Akanji had palmed away a fine lob from Michael Cutajar. Sliema fought back and it was no surprise when, 23 minutes into the second half,  Nenad Veselji's flicked header from a Richard Buhagiar cross gave them an equaliser. 

Buhagiar leaves it late
Birkirkara went ahead again 13 minutes from full time when a chipped free-kick from Chucks Nwoko found Matthew Calascione ready to flick over the desperate the Sliema goalkeeper. However Buhagiar emerging from a cluttered goalmouth to flick a Sliema equaliser deep into injury time.
