The 60-year-old, who took over at the helm of football in Kosovo in 2018 following the passing of his predecessor Fadil Vokrri, will now serve a new four-year term as president.

"I do not take this new mandate as a privilege, but as an obligation,” Ademi told delegates at the FFK assembly. “However, I cannot fulfil this obligation without you.”

Responsibility and trust

“I take the responsibility that you have given me very seriously,” he added, “and I will pay you back for the trust you have placed in me, as I am a football person, and I am happy to feel at home here in front of you.”

Ademi's vision for his second mandate includes increasing the number of active football players in Kosovo up to an overall total of 20,000. Outlining his programme, he also emphasised the importance of the growth of women's football, as well as the development of the grassroots sector and improving football infrastructures within the country.

Another key focal point will be the expansion of Kosovo’s national team stadium from 13,000 to 22,000 seats, alongside the objective of fostering and enhancing the national team’s standing under newly appointed national team coach, French football legend Alain Giresse.
