Kazakhstan: Large-scale football festival for girls

A large-scale football festival for girls, My Game, was held in 17 cities across the country.

The Kazakhstan Football Federation initiated and organised the event as a way to promote women’s football in the country.

Over 3,000 girls aged 9–14 took part in the festival. Experienced coaches of women’s teams, as well as players from women’s football clubs, acted as instructors, demonstrating exercises with the ball, as well as drills to practise coordination and speed. As a result of the project, most of the participants have started playing football in their regional amateur clubs.

Currently, women’s football is one of the fastest-growing sports in Kazakhstan, prompting an increase in the number of teams and the level of competition among them. At the end of the festival, all the participants received certificates and souvenirs.

The Kazakhstan Football Federation looks forward to organising similar events annually.
