Hagi bows out at Bursaspor

Members

Former Romanian international Gheorghe Hagi has resigned as coach of Turkish Super League side Bursaspor.

Personal reasons
At a press conference with the club's president, Fikret Üstenci, Hagi announced he had decided to quit for personal reasons, saying: "Lots of reasons could be put forward but I will not reveal the real reason as it is my personal decision."

'We thank him'
The Bursaspor president revealed he had tried to keep the former Romanian international at the club, adding: "When Hagi told us he wanted to resign we urged him to stay, but he said it was a family matter. We thank him for his contribution to our team."

Relegation worries
Bursaspor are in 15th position in the Super League, one off the relegation places. A tremendous 6-0 win against AS Adanaspor a fortnight ago showed what Hagi's side were capable of, but last week's 2-0 defeat by Trabzonspor left the club in trouble again.
