Former Spain coach Domingo Balmanya has died in hospital following a heart attack at the age of 87.

Wonderful career
Balmanya made 111 appearances for FC Barcelona as a player, helped them to Inter-Cities Fairs Cup glory in 1958 as part of the coaching staff and went on to win the Primera División title at the helm of Club Atlético de Madrid eight years later.

Spain coach in Sixties
That success earned him the post of Spain coach, which he held until 1968. He died in Barcelona General Hospital on Thursday morning.
