FC PAOK Thessaloniki moved up to third place in the Ethniki Katigoria on Saturday after a comfortable 2-0 home win over struggling Ionikos.
Georgiadis penalty
Greek international midfielder Giorgios Georgiadis put PAOK ahead from the penalty spot after 31 minutes and Pantelis Kafes added a second for the home side on the hour mark. The win put PAOK level on 35 points with second-placed Olympiakos Pireaus FC, but with the rest of the fixture programme taking place on Sunday the northern Greek club may only stay there for 24 hours.
Ionikos in trouble
Ionikos are having a troubled season since the summer departure of record scorer Craig Brewster and are currently fourth from bottom.
