For the sixth season in seven, Mirko Vučinić has been named Montenegrin player of the year after helping Juventus win Serie A undefeated.

The forward beat Stevan Jovetić into second place in the poll of coaches and captains of the country's 12 top-flight clubs, winning 96 points to the ACF Fiorentina forward's 81. As well as Italian Scudetto success, 29-year-old Vučinić has helped his country top 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying Group H, ahead of England, Poland and Ukraine.

"It is always a big honour to be the best in my country," said the former US Lecce and AS Roma striker. "This is always a special feeling. I have had a very successful year for my club and national team. I hope 2013 will be even more successful, and I hope this time next year Montenegro will be sure of their participation in the World Cup in 2014."

FK Rudar Pljevlja winger Blažo Igumanović was named best domestic player. "This award means a lot to me and gives me motivation to be better in the future, but the award also belongs to my team-mates and coaches," said Igumanović, who made his international debut against San Marino in November.

After guiding second-division FK Čelik Nikšić to an unforgettable cup win, Slavoljub Bubanja took the prize for best coach. "It was an unforgettable year for me and for Čelik; I wish my club all the best next year," he said.

The Football Federation of Montenegro (FSCG) also recognised the talents of Torino FC midfielder Marko Bakić, FC Zenit St Petersburg forward Luka Djordjević and FK Zeta attacker Aleksandar Boljević, who collected accolades as the nation's most promising talent.
