Torpedo's cup defence continues

FC Torpedo Kutaisi beat FC Guria Lanchkhuti to reach the semi-finals of the Georgian Cup.

Holders FC Torpedo Kutaisi cruised into the semi-finals of the Georgian Cup after completing a 4-0 aggregate victory over FC Guria Lanchkhuti.

Never in trouble
Torpedo were never in trouble following their 2-0 first-leg victory last month and a goal in each half ensured their safe passage.

Early opener
Givi Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring after just three minutes and Zurab Ionanidze rounded off the scoring just before the hour.

Comeback hopes crushed
FC Gorda 2000 Rustavi's hopes of overturning a 1-0 first-leg deficit against FC WIT Georgia Tbilisi were crushed by a 4-0 scoreline after a rampant first-half display from the visitors.

Fifth-minute goal
Gorda were hoping home advantage would help after losing out to Levan Melkadze's last-minute winner in the first game, but they were soon behind after Giorgi Adamia doubled the advantage in the fifth minute.

Easy win
By the time David Digmelashvili scored the second goal of the game after 25 minutes and Kakhaber Tsutsunava added the third 11 minutes later the tie was over.

Second-half clincher
Tsutsunava grabbed his second of the game and his side's fifth of the tie early in the second half.

Routine victory
FC Dinamo Tbilisi progressed thanks to a routine 5-0 home win over city rivals TSU Tbilisi.

Three-goal first half
A goal up from the first leg, Lado Burduli's 28th-minute penalty and Giorgi Mikadze first goal of the day gave the hosts a 3-0 aggregate lead at half-time.

Mikadze grabs second
Vitali Daraselia helped himself to a goal six minutes after the restart and Mikadze added his second of the game before Giorgi Anchabadze rounded off the scoring for a 6-0 aggregate victory.

Third Tbilisi side through
FC Lokomotiv Tbilisi join them in the semi-finals after completing a 4-2 aggregate win over FC Dinamo Batumi.

First leg repeat
The capital club had done the hard work in the first leg, taking a 2-1 victory back home before repeating the feat on Wednesday.

Second-half goals
Goals from Alexander Kaidarashvili (51) and David Siradze (81) sandwiched Shalva Afkhazava's 66th-minute effort for Batumi.
