Promising talent
Valletta formally completed the official transfer of the 26-year-old midfield player after Birkirkara FC dropped their initial interest in the player. Last season Fenech went on loan to Birkirkara and his positive performances were one of the main reasons why the team won the Maltese Trophy and the Super Cup. "I am overwhelmed to be joining a great club like Valletta, but on the other hand I am a bit disappointed for falling out with Birkirkara," commented Fenech.

Mellieha born
The Mellieha born player started his career as a trainee with Naxxar Lions FC, before moving on to his home club Mellieha, where he was spotted by Rabat. He moved there for the 1999/00 season, before eventually going on loan to Birkirkara last season.
