News round-up: English Premiership newcomers Wigan Athletic FC have signed Josip Skoko while Domenico Morfeo trades clubs in Italy's Serie A.

French Ligue 1 side AS Saint-Etienne have signed Ivory Coast midfielder Siaka Tiene from South African club Mamelodi Sundowns FC. The 23-year-old left-sided player has penned a four-year deal to link up with compatriot Didier Zokora at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Spanish UEFA Champions League contenders Villarreal CF have reached an agreement to cancel the contract of midfielder Javier Calleja. The 27-year-old, who once played for Real Madrid CF, joined Villarreal in 2000 and had one year remaining on his contract.

In Italy, AC Siena have recruited 31-year-old former FC Internazionale Milano forward Massimo Marazzina on a free transfer from Torino Calcio. Meanwhile, 29-year-old attacking midfielder Domenico Morfeo has left Inter for Parma FC, also on a free transfer. He has signed a three-year contract at the Ennio Tardini stadium after spending the last two seasons on loan with the club.

Germany's VfL Wolfsburg have taken Serbo-Montenegrin international defender Bojan Neziri on loan from Ukrainian side FC Shakhtar Donetsk, subject to a medical. The 23-year-old has agreed to spend the 2005/06 campaign with Wolfsburg with the Bundesliga team having the option of signing him on a three-year deal next summer.

Meanwhile, VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach are close to completing the acquisition of 22-year-old Brazilian forward Kahé from AA Ponte Preta. "We have a few more details to clarify before being able to announce he has joined us," said general manager Peter Pander.

Hertha BSC Berlin have extended the contract of general manager Dieter Hoeness by four years until summer 2010. The brother of FC Bayern München general manager Uli Hoeness would have been out of contract at the end of the season. The 52-year-old former German international joined Hertha in 1996 as vice-president.

AFC Ajax have loaned 19-year-old Belgian forward Tom De Mul to Eredivisie rivals SBV Vitesse for the remainder of the season.

Finally, in Scotland, Livingston FC have signed former Newcastle United FC and Norwich City FC striker Paul Dalglish. The 28-year-old son of the Scotland legend Kenny Dalglish has agreed a one-year contract with the Premier League outfit. "I am delighted to get back into football with Livingston," he said. "I am just desperate to get into the team and do my best for the club."
