ŠK Slovan Bratislava fought back from a goal behind to defeat city rivals AŠK Inter Bratislava 3-1 on Sunday and extend their lead at the top of the Slovakian Super League table to eight points.

Sestak seals it
Inter began the 78th Bratislava derby the stronger side and finally moved ahead in the 16th minute through Miroslav Drobnak's 10-metre strike, but it took just six minutes for Slovan to find an equaliser, Branislav Obzera restoring parity. The visitors continued to press and moved 2-1 up five minutes later through Peter Dzurik's close-range effort before Stanislav Sestak sealed the points late on.

Spartak rally
On Saturday, second-placed FC Spartak Trnava recorded a 2-1 victory over ŠKM Matador Púchov, but they too had to recover from going a goal down. Jozef Privarcak gave Púchov the lead against the run of play six minutes after half-time but Miroslav Kriss levelled matters eight minutes later and Vladimir Kozuch settled the result 16 minutes from time.

Gottwald double
MŠK Zilina are still just a point behind Spartak after their 4-0 win against MŠK Ruzomberok. After Branislav Labant's 12th-minute penalty, Michal Gottwald scored twice and Stefan Rusnak completed the scoring.

Ivana trumps
Elsewhere, Milan Ivana cancelled out Vladimir Semanco's second-minute opener as FK Laugaricio Trencín claimed a hard-fought 3-2 victory at 1.FC Košice. Lubomír Mati restored the hosts' lead on the half-hour mark but Ivana and Robert Hanko secured the three points with second-half strikes. Bottom club FK ZTS Dubnica held high-flying FC Artmedia Petrzalka to a goalless draw.
