The Turkish international, who joined Blackburn three weeks ago after being released by Italian Serie A club Parma AC, had been in line to make his Premiership debut against Manchester United FC on Sunday.

News of the 31-year-old's injury broke on Blackburn's website a matter of hours before his first scheduled appearance in his new club colours and Sükür, who has scored a record 37 times for his country, will now be out of contention for two months.
