Odaír secures Belenenses switch

Undisclosed fee
The 29-year-old central defender agreed a deal with Belenenses at the end of last season, only for the move to break down when the two clubs failed to negotiate a fee. This time the transfer went ahead after Belenenses and Braga decided on an undisclosed fee.
Brazilian coach
Odaír, who has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, will join his new team-mates on Tuesday. He will be working under fellow countryman Marinho Peres in Lisbon but is not taking for granted a starting place in the 1. Liga side.
Former Cruzeiro player
"Everyone who arrives in the middle of a season has to overcome some difficulties and has to work harder to find his place in the team," he said. However, Odaír, who spent four years with Braga after joining from Cruzeiro EC, anticipates no problems in settling at Belenenses.
Warm welcome
"From what I know, Belenenses is an easy club to work at, because the older players create a welcoming environment which helps the new players fit in," he said. "So, I hope to be welcomed and have the support of everyone."
