Colombian returns to Turkey

Gaziantepspor have signed the former Galatasaray SK midfield player Gustavo Victoria on a two-and-a-half year contract from Colombian side AD Cali.

European push
Currently fifth in the Turkish Super League standings, Gaziantepspor fought off stiff competition to secure the playmaker's signature, and the 22-year-old is looking forward to helping his new club push for a place in Europe.

Feared opponents
"When I played for Galatasaray, the away game in Gaziantep was the one we feared the most," he said. "They are a good team with a lot of young talent. They are aiming for the championship and, even if they can't achieve that, I am happy to play for a team trying to reach the top."

Frozen out
Victoria established himself as a player of note at CD Quindío, playing over 80 games in two seasons prior to a move to Cali, who loaned him to Galatasaray last season. The Colombian played 29 matches as the Istanbul club won the Turkish championship, scoring once, but was frozen out of Fatih Terim's plans for this season following the return of Hakan Ünsal.
