Took full advantage
Burnley had not reached the quarter-finals for 20 years and won the competition for the only time in 1914. But they earned a replay with a 1-1 draw at Fulham last week and took full advantage of their second chance after going ahead on 27 minutes through striker Gareth Taylor's header. Ian Moore then pounced on Dean West's incisive pass to double the lead eight minutes later.
Diallo wraps up game
Fulham, who had played out a Premiership draw with Tottenham Hotspur FC only two days before, saw their hopes fade further three minutes into the second half when Sean Davis was dismissed for a foul on Tony Grant. Grant then turned provider as Burnley wrapped up the game on 52 minutes when his corner was headed in by Drissa Diallo.
Watford meeting
Burnley will travel to First Division rivals Watford FC in the quarter-finals. Indeed half of the sides in the last eight are from outside the Premiership.
