Czech duo Frantisek Sevínský and Karel Vácha were on target for FC Artmedia Petrzalka to help them to a 2-0 derby win against Slovakian Super League leaders ŠK Slovan Bratislava.
Zilina held
The pair, both signed in the winter break, delighted a crowd of more than 10,000 fans in the partially-rebuilt Petrzalka stadium to lift their side to third, nine points behind Slovan. However, second-placed MŠK Zilina could only reduce their deficit to the leaders to eight points as they were held 0-0 by struggling local rivals FK ZTS Dubnica.
Košice gain victory
Having sacked coach Andrej Danko on Friday, 1. FC Košice proceeded to end their run of 12 games without a win by claiming a 2-0 victory against FC Spartak Trnava. Former assistant Bohumil Andrejko led Košice to victory, with Pavel Kulig and Ján Kozák Jr, the son of the former international, scoring to give their side hope of avoiding relegation.
Ivana double
However, FK Laugaricio Trencín remain three points ahead of bottom-placed Kosice as they beat MŠK Ruzomberok with two goals from Milan Ivana. AŠK Inter Bratislava also remain in relegation trouble after a 1-1 draw with ŠKM Púchov, who took the lead in the first half through Ivan Kovác, only for Miroslav Drobnák to equalise 15 minutes from the end with a free-kick.
