Comfortable win
Captain Barry Ferguson opened the scoring on 18 minutes with a curling free-kick and Danish international Peter Lovenkrands completed a comfortable win just after half-time when he raced on to a Kevin Muscat pass to slot the ball into the net.
McLeish praise
Although rivals Celtic have two games in hand, Rangers manager Alex McLeish was satisfied that his side had garlanded maximum points, praising his players for their professional display. "Overall, it was a really good night's work and they showed fantastic professionalism," he said. "They went about it really well and even though Motherwell made it hard, we deserved it tonight."
