Goalkeeper Henk Timmer has agreed a new one-year contract with joint Dutch league leaders Feyenoord which will keep him in Rotterdam until the summer of 2009.

Familiar move
The 36-year-old goalkeeper has agreed the new deal with an option of a further year having become first-choice goalkeeper at the De Kuip Stadium since joining Feyenoord for a second time from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2006. "We are very glad that Henk is staying with us," Feyenoord technical director Peter Bosz said. "He performs excellently and fits into the team very well too." Capped four times for the Netherlands, Timmer first played for Feyenoord in the 2001/02 season, moving on to AFC Ajax after one season and then rejoining AZ a season later. He started his career with FC Zwolle in 1989.
