Giulio Falcone has signed for Sampdoria UC on a free transfer after his contract with Bologna FC expired.

Two-year contract
The 29-year-old defender, whose deal at Bologna ran out at the beginning of June, has signed a two-year contract with the Blucerchiati. Falcone had spent four seasons at the Dall'Ara stadium since joining from AC Fiorentina in 1999, having begun his professional career with Torino Calcio.

'Ambitious club'
"I'm really happy because I signed for an ambitious club," Falcone said. "Sampdoria have proved that they want to achieve good results next year by signing several good players."

Seventh signing
Falcone is the seventh reinforcement as newly-promoted Sampdoria look to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to Serie A. Cristiano Doni, Massimo Donati, Cristian Zenoni, Atsushi Yanagisawa, Luca Antonini and Stefano Aimo Diana have all already signed for the Genoa-based club.
