The UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) investigatory chamber, chaired by Jean-Luc Dehaene, has announced that six clubs involved in the 2013/14 UEFA club competitions have been referred to the CFCB adjudicatory chamber.

The clubs are Skonto FC (LVA), WKS Śląsk Wrocław (POL), Vitória SC (POR), CS Pandurii Târgu Jiu (ROU), FC Petrolul Ploieşti (ROU) and FC Metalurh Donetsk (UKR). A final decision is expected to be taken before the end of the year.

As part of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations and, in particular, the assessment of the capacity of clubs to meet their financial obligations, the CFCB investigatory chamber had requested that 31 clubs submit further information regarding the status of any overdue payables towards clubs, employees and/or social/tax authorities as of 30 September 2013. Six of these clubs had prize money temporarily withheld pending further investigation.

Following further investigations and based on new information and evidence provided by the clubs, the CFCB investigatory chamber decided to close the cases involving 25 clubs. The prize money temporarily withheld has now been released to all six clubs concerned by this previous conservatory measure.

The introduction of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations has already had a very positive impact on the scale of overdue payables towards clubs, employees and social/tax authorities, as they have decreased from €57m in June 2011 to €9m in June 2013. A similar trend was observed in September 2013.
